How does Rooftop system work?

A solar rooftop system is built using solar panels, inverter, meter, structure holding, AC/DC cables and ACDB DCDB distribution box, and other necessary typically consists of solar modules, solar inverter(s) and other electrical components.

After installation of Solar plant, if you have excess electricity generated, the excess electricity is transferred to the National electricity grid and your account gets credited according to the units transferred.

Electricity usage < Electricity generated = Excess electricity

Excess electricity = Credit from electricity grid

How to understand my requirement for the capacity of the solar plant I would require?

The capacity of solar plant installation depends on:

According to your electricity usage per month, we can estimate your requirement. Electricity bill varies from state to state.
Eg- if your electricity bill is Rs 1000/per month, you would probably require a 1 KW system.

From proper generation of electricity, solar panels should be installed in a show free space. Approx. 100 sq ft of show free space would be required for 1 KW system.

There is a cap for capacity you can install at your premise. No system greater than sanctioned load can be installed. (this info varies from state to state)
